Cedric F. Walker
New Orleans, LA

QCWA # 28098

First licensed when I was in the 8th grade in Los Angeles, as WN6GIN (1963). Drifted away from ham radio until 1995, when I was re-licensed as KC5NLJ. My current vanity call sign (K5CFW) is the one I will keep.

To support my ham radio hobby, I'm Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Tulane University in New Orleans, a P.E. (Professional Engineer) in Electrical Engineering, and a Fellow of the I.E.E.E. My two sons are both Eagle Scouts, and one is also a ham (KD5RWA) and Assistant A.R.E.S. Emergency Coordinator for Orleans Parish.

Most of my ham operating is on 20 meter PSK (070 #162), where I especially enjoy QRP with my Small Wonder Labs transceiver. Current goals are DXCC on PSK, and achieving a 5 mile-per-milliwatt QSO. I am also honored to work with the US Coast Guard Auxiliary HF Radio Program.
