At the age of 15 I became a novice, WNØDAR, at Bismarck, ND. Today I am active on HF AM, SSB, PSK31 and D-Star.

K5ELK is a D-Star gateway repeater I host near Elk City, OK.

I am a Collins Collector Association member owning two Collins R-390's, one R-390A, 75A-4 (Toronto build) receiver, two 75A-4's with noise blankers and a Collins 20V-3 serial #33 AM broadcast transmiter. Recent additions to the station are a KWM-2A driving a 30S-1. Other gear includes a Ten-Tec Orion II, Yaesu FT-757GX, Alpha 9500, Oneida T-368F serial 140, RCA BTA-1R1 broadcast transmitter for 160 meter AM. Recently aquired / Collins 820E/F1 serial 46 broadcast transmitter for 160-75 meters and a Flexradio 6700. Icom 706 MKIIG for 6 Meters thru UHF in the shack. Icom 7000, Icom 2820H, IC-92AD, IC-880, IC-51A for Dstar for mobile and portable use. A Raspberry Pi and a DVAP connected via ATT hotspot provides mobile D-Star access.

Antennas are a 193.5 foot vertical antenna for use on 160, 75, 40 and 20 meters and a broadband folded dipole. Photos of the vertical are available at the web page listed below.

While traveling, I access the station by remote control using a laptop computer connected via the internet.
