Greetings,

Name here is Doug and I'm KG3I. I am the one in the picture wearing the glasses.

I am located in the western part of Monroe County, PA just north of Effort, PA. For all you NASCAR fans I am located about 10 minutes south of the Pocono International Raceway. I have been licensed since 1975 origionally as WB3IIY and then later as W3IIY. Since upgrading I decided to shorten the call and now I'm known as KG3I.

I have my Uncle Lew, W3DCR (sk) to thank for getting me into the greatest hobby in the world. I initially started out as an SWL with an old National NC-173R attached to a long wire antenna. My first real transceiver was a Kenwood TS-520.

I work as a Paramedic here in Pennsylvania.

My interests in ham radio include DX'ing on HF SSB and CW both from at home and mobile as well as some FM on the local repeaters. I also enjoy playing around with commercial gear. I can also be found on some of the digital modes as well. I have a UHF repeater on the air here in Eastern PA near the Pocono Raceway. The output is 446.575 MHz and the input in 441.575 MHz with a PL tone of 151.4 Hz. It is open for all to use and enjoy.

My current station includes a Yaesu FT-2000D and a Kenwood TS-430S at home. I also have available a Drake L7 amp and a slew of portables and mobiles including Icom, Yaesu, Kenwood, Vertex and Motorola gear. The antenna farm includes a Cushcraft A3, A3WS, TA33, G5RV, Carolina Windom as well as 3 elements on 6 meters.

Thanks for reading my bio!

Take care and God Bless!

Doug KG3I
