LAKE KATRINE-Francis G. Sainsbury, 89, died September 28, 2021 at home. Born in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of Max and Velma (Scoffin) Sainsbury. He was drafted during the Korean War and served in the Army Signal Corps. He earned a Bachelor degree in Physics from Marist College. Frank worked for IBM Kingston for thirty six years. He was an amateur radio operator for many years and belonged to the Overlook Mountain Amateur Radio Club. He conducted quarterly exams for ARRL in Ulster County for twenty five years. His many volunteer activities include Town of Ulster Little League, Boy Scouts and many years with the Senior Computer Learning Center. He was a long-term member of the Clinton Avenue United Methodist Church where he served in many capacities. One of his great loves was boating on the Hudson where summer weekends were spent and trips to Lake Champlain were made.

He married Marge Setera in 1957 and he died on the sixty fourth anniversary of their marriage. He is survived by two children: Michael of Lake Katrine and Sharon of Wappingers Falls. Also surviving is a sister, Maxine Castiglioni of Michigan, three granddaughters, Stacy of Kingston, Anna of Woodstock and Angela Moynihan of Lake Katrine: grandson Max of Middleburgh, grandchildren Joshua and Killian Gilbert of Kingston.

Predeceasing Francis was: son Daniel (Pattie Scanlon), as well as a sister Alice (Combetta) of Michigan and a brother Alan of Mississippi.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 AM to 12 PM. A funeral service will be held 12:30 PM at the Clinton Avenue United Methodist Church, masks are required inside the church.
