WØWWH - Sidney J. 'Sid' Reade Sidney J. 'Sid' Reade
Bellevue, NE

QCWA # 23501

I am saddened to report that at 1710 CDT today, I received a call from Sid´s son, Sid Reade II or Butch, advising that Sid, WØWHW, had become a Silent Key at 1700 today. Sid had been sick since about July 4TH and has been hospitalized since mid July or early August.

Based on a conversation I had with Sid´s son several weeks ago, Sid wanted only to be cremated and buried in a family plot in Sidney, IA, with no funeral or memorial service. To my knowledge, the family will comply with that wish; I will advise if there are any changes.

Sid´s wife Nadean, based on the onset of dementia, was relocated to a memory assist unit at Mable Rose Estates in Bellevue after Sid became ill, as he was her sole caregiver. There is no other family here in town.

Sympathy cards may be addressed to Sidney J. Reade II, 3632 Wild View Drive, Fort Collins, CO 80526, and or to his daughter Cynthia Holt-Busch, 1075 Occidental Circle, Redlands, CA 92374. If you choose this method mail them to The Family of Sidney J. Reade, c/o John A. Sheffield, 6904 Capehart Road, Papillion, NE 68133-3632. In lieu of flowers, donations to either the America Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association in Sid´s name (Sidney J. Reade, W0ØWWH) would be appreciated.

The amateur radio community has lost two great friends in the last two days with the passing of Bob, WØYU and Sid, WØWH. I know they are in a better place, May the rest in Peace.

John, N4OWG
