We are saddened to report the passing of long time QCWA member, Seymour "Sy" Levine, W2LPT of Lake Worth, Florida on February 23, 2013.

Sy was born on February 19, 1921 in New York City. He was 92 years old. Sy was first licensed in 1938.

He was a manufacturer of women's clothing in Brooklyn, NY. Upon retirement, Sy worked as a greeter for the local Wal-Mart until age 89.

Sy was a veteran of World War II and received a citation from the French government for helping liberate France during D Day in June 1944. Sy landed in Normandy on D-Day + 2 during heavy enemy attack.

Sy was active on the air from his basement shack in EAst Williston, IL, NY & he joined ARRL in 1940 & QCWA in 1964.

He was a regular at Chapter 111 luncheons & active on the air until his recent illness. In January 2013, Sy was awarded his 75th year certificate & life membership in QCWA by Chapter 111 President Tom Thompson, W2TMT & National Director Jeff Beals, WA4AW.

Services for Sy will be held on Monday, February 25, 2013 at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens in Boynton Beach, FL at 3 PM.

Last month Sy received a 75th Anniversary Award from QCWA and a Certificate of Merit from ARRL.
