After attending UNC,he enrolled in the Dental School of the Medical College of Virginia.Graduating at the age of 20,he accepted a full-time position as an instructor in the MCV School of Dentistry.In 1940 he married Marguerite Behle of Richmond.
Served in the United States Navy,World War II,with the "Seabees"in the Admirality Islands.Retired from dentistry in 1992.
Brother of Francis(Tharrington) and Remus.
