Donald G. Murray, age 78, went to be with Jesus on February 6th, 2022, with his wife by his side in Austin, Texas.

Don is preceded in death by his father and mother. He leaves his loving wife of 20 years, Gabrielle Quebedeaux-Murray.

Don was born in Washington DC and lived in several places in the United States and abroad as a son of an Army Major. Don received his degree from the University of Miami. Don loved his country, serving in the US Army while stationed in Ethiopia. During his service, Don received distinguished honors for his exceptional knowledge of complex electronic circuits and components and his outstanding devotion to duty. He was also an Army Security Agent.

After his time of service, Don was recruited to work for NBC as a broadcast engineer, where he would work for 40 years. Throughout his career, Don gained credibility among his peers for his brilliant work in television. During his time with the company, Don won 3 Emmys for production work. He received an Emmy for his technical work in the 1988 Olympics. Don was also the Rotarian Man of the Year 2018-2019.

Don and Gabi were married on February 2nd, 2002, in Key West, Florida. The loving couple retired to Fredericksburg, Texas in 2008. Don, along with Gabi, faithfully attended the First Baptist Church where he served on several committees and spent many years serving in the "Food for Kids" program through the Needs Council. In addition, Don was a member of the Rotary Club and spent many years as a Ham Radio operator, making connections with people and using his skill to volunteer at the Nimitz Museum. Don loved animals, especially his beloved dog Nimitz.

Don was warm, compassionate, and displayed a Christ-like attitude to everyone he met. He will be sorely missed and remembered by the people who knew and loved him.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 4th at 2:22 P.M. in the First Baptist Church, Fredericksburg
