Winifred Charles Preslar, 93, left to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 23, 2019. He is survived by his children, Jeanette Keen of Balch Springs TX(Troy), Becky Preslar-Smith of Garland TX(Terry), Charlie Preslar Jr (Mary) of Garland TX, and Barbara Campbell (Jack) of Seadrift. He had 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Charles is survived by his brother, Billy G Preslar of Corpus Christi, sisters, Joyce Frith of Houston, and Suzie Woodruff (Paul) of Corpus Christi TX.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar & Gladys Preslar. The love of his life until death separated them after 55 years, Edna Mahan Preslar. Sister, Frances Phelps, and brother Jimmy Preslar. Daughter, Annette Boanerges, 1 grandson, and 1 great granddaughter.

He was the oldest of 6 children, born in Florence, TX April 19, 1926. Served in WWII in Italy. Charles married Edna B. Mahan in 1947. He retired October 13, 1986, after 43 years as Area Manager-Circuit Provisioning Engineering with AT&T/SWBT, Houston, TX. Charles was also a Ham radio operator W5VPE & W5HZ of Katy, TX. Charles passions for music began at age 6, playing the violin in Corpus Christi, Brownsville, and Edinburg Pan American College Symphony Orchestra's. He also played for the Swinging Strings in the surrounding areas of Katy & Houston TX.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Grand Parkway Chapel in Katy, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday with Mr. John Baker officiating. Interment at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
