Dwight Moody Brown, Jr - 1926 - 2016
Dwight M. Brown, Jr of Shreveport, LA passed away on February 23, 2016 at Willis-Knighton Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at a future date.

Dwight served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 until 1946 (active duty). He then began his career in Geology which he enjoyed until the time of his retirement.

Dwight was a longtime member of Broadmoor Baptist Church of Shreveport. He was a 30 year plus member of the Kiwanis Club of Shreveport.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dwight Brown, Sr. and Sarah B. Brown of Shreveport and two sisters Katherine B. Wilder (Dr. W. W. Wilder, Jr.) of Germantown, TN and Sarah B. Jordan (Carl) of Dallas, Texas. Also preceding him in death were his in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Claude R. Smith, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Sheryl Brown, of Shreveport, step-daughter and son-in-law Angela and Lynn Sprout, Jr. and two step-granddaughters, Mckenna and Raleigh Sprout and brother-in -law and sister-in-law Randy and Brenda Smith. He is survived by nieces Beth Gould, Jan Bill, Martha Hix and Marilyn Feinberg and by nephews Ray Jordan and Jim Wilder and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

Dwight was grateful to all who continued to care for him and showed that concern after he became ill.

The family wishes to thank the Dr. Roy Fleniken, Wanda Harris, R.N., Louise Wiggins, R.N. and the entire staff at the Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Bossier City for the care given to Dwight through the course of his illness and Dr. Sally Ball and staff and the staff at Willis Knighton Pierremont for the medical care and compassion Dwight received in their care through the years.
