Kent Ben Johnson a long time resident of Las Vegas Nevada since 1988, passed away peacefully on September 25th 2022 at Henderson hospital at the age of 81. He was born in Preston, Idaho on January 30th 1941 to Dorothy Abbott Johnson and Ben Bartlett Johnson. Kent grew up in Idaho, was an active member of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. He received his Eagle Scout, he had a beautiful voice and performed in school plays such as Oklahoma. Kent received a Bachelor's degree in chemistry, a minor in mathematics from Weber State University. Kent also received a master's in nuclear science from University of Idaho.

While in college, he met his life-long sweetheart, Oraleen through his cousin which was a dear friend of Oraleen. Kent and his wife had three children Michael, James and Kimberly. Kent's work took his family to various states such as California, Louisiana, and Tennessee and finally settled down in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1988. During Kent's career, he worked on numerous projects with Green energy and Opened Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power plant in San Luis Obispo, California which is still in operation.

While living in Las Vegas, he worked on the Yucca mountain project. Kent retire from Engineering and worked as a Broker and sold commercial real estate. Shortly after to moving to Las Vegas, Kent was actively involved in his wives health care and dedicated 30 years of his life caring for her. With Kent's involvement, he extended his wife's life many years which was a wonderful gift for all of us. Kent lost his beloved wife in January 25th 2020 and has since then been surrounded by his children, grandchildren and extended family. Kent had a passion for ham radio since he was a young adult that stayed with him till his golden years.

Kent served on the church communication committee and has helped the LDS Church headquarters in emergency preparation. Kent's service to the church and in the ham radio community will truly be missed. Kent took pride in his yard with landscaping and pool. He enjoyed his view of the city lights skyline from his backyard and loved hosting swim parties and barbecues at his home. He had a great sense of humor and made everyone feel included and loved. Kent is survived by his three children Michael, James, Kimberly, two daughter in laws, Erin and Jamie, 10 grandchildren with a great grandchild on the way.
