Donald (Don) Edward Park, age 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at his residence at the Beehive Homes in Herriman, Utah.

He was the son of David G. Park Jr. and Margaret (Louise) Rakestraw, born April 24, 1938, in Dallas, Texas, alongside his twin brother, William J. Park.He married Penelope (Penny) M. Belnap on June 2, 1962, and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 9, 1969.

 He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints serving in several auxiliaries. His favorite calling in the church was serving as a missionary with the Spanish-speaking missionaries.Dad’s favorite passion throughout his life was playing the organ/piano for friends and family and buying older organs to fix up and repair. He loved music. He was a member of the Ham Radio Club and enjoyed checking in daily with his ham radio buddies. In addition, he could fix and repair almost any computer. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1969-1975 while working as a radioman. After his time in the service, he went to work for McDonnell Douglas and later retired from Boeing out of St Louis, MO.

Dad is survived by his two brothers, John D. Park of Vancouver, OR, and Robert B. (Lynn) Park of St. Louis, MO; also his four children Kristina Checkett of Omaha, NE, Patrick Park of McMinnville, OR, Denise (Quin) Thorup of Riverton, UT, and Mark (JaLynn) Park of Vancouver, WA. He had ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death are his wife, both parents, and his twin brother, William J. Park of Torrance, CA.

Interment: There will be a private graveside service held in dad’s honor at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park at 17001 S. Camp Williams Rd, Riverton, Utah, on Friday, July 30, 2021.The Park family would like to extend their gratitude to all the staff at Beehive Homes in Herriman, Utah, and those at Canyons Hospice for their attentiveness and loving care for our dad.
