Marvin Christensen Zitting, 88, passed away peacefully from natural causes at his home, Wednesday, October 23, 2019 surrounded by family. Marvin was born in Murray, Utah, December 9, 1930 to Edna Aleen Christensen Zitting and Charles Fredrick Zitting.

At 13, Marvin was severely injured in an accident. Despite missing a year of school and becoming legally blind, he continued his education, working his way through college, earning a BS degree in Physics from the U of U.

At 16, Marvin (W7MR) became interested in amateur radio and enjoyed the hobby the rest of his life.

In 1959, Marvin married Rhea Smith. He later married Natalie Wayman; they were together until 1996. Together they raised nineteen children. Marvin was devoted to his family and was known affectionately as âDaddyâ to his children.

Marvin worked for KWHO radio for nine years. He then worked for years in the seal industry as a manager and training director, traveling the world. Marvin became self-employed and bought a real estate franchise near Cincinnati. Wanting to spend more time with his family, he started several small companies based in Murray, Utah.

Marvin's first love was the Gospel of Jesus Christ and he faithfully and consistently prayed with his family, attended church, and taught his family by scripture and by example.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 12:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 S), South Jordan, Utah. Viewings will be held at the same location on Monday, October 28, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 pm and on Tuesday from 10:00-11:30 am prior the service. Interment at Elysian Burial Gardens.

He was preceded in death by his parents, several siblings, and daughter, Susan. Survived by his devoted and loving wife of 60 years, Rhea Smith Zitting; numerous brothers and sisters; his children; numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
