On October 24, 1942 he married "the love of his life", Verda Gwin. They were introduced by her father at her parent's rose garden in Junction City, Kansas, while he was selling roses. After he returned from the war, they moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming and eventually settled in Casper. They enjoyed 69 happy years together. From this union came three daughters: Carole (Dexter) Smith of Pinedale, Wyoming; Marian (Ray) Spackman of Electric City, Washington; and Barbara (Joe) Boster of Casper, Wyoming. Added to the family were 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren residing in Wyoming, Washington, Nevada, Colorado and California.

During his career, he landscaped community parks for the City of Casper. For many years, he owned and operated Morgensen Nursery with his father. Later he started Landscape Services and provided quality landscaping throughout Wyoming. He enjoyed landscaping many homes and businesses in Casper and the surrounding area. Many people learned how to landscape their own homes by taking his Residential Landscaping Class through Casper College.

Morres was a 50 year plus member of Casper Lodge #15 AF&AM, Ancient Order of the Mystic Shrine participating in the Oriental Band, and a York Rite Mason. He was also a member of International Flying Farmers of America, Mended Hearts, and an amateur radio operator since 1948, call sign W7MZW. He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church since 1947. His joy was flying his Cessna 182 for business and pleasure, taking many trips with his lovely wife, Verda. Each week, he enjoyed socializing with his coffee group at Sunrise Coffee Shop. Every Friday, he and his wife ate lunch at Red Lobster.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Marjorie Aaker, and an infant son.
