Roland "Rolando" Romito, age 96, of Mayfield Heights, formerly of Bedford, Ohio, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021 at home with loving family and caregivers at his side.

Roland is survived by his beloved wife of 75 years Elizabeth (nee Bucci) Romito; loving sons, Jerry (Linda) Romito and Thomas (Mary Anne) Romito; loving daughters, Jill (Tom) Johns and Anita (Chris) Logsdon; dear grandchildren, Teressa (John), Thomas (Laura), Sara (Scott), Janine (Douglas), Roland "Rollie", Alexandra "Alex" and Vince; dear great-grandchildren, Jack, Mara, Daniel, Thomas and Douglas James "D.J."; sister Nicolina Spikowski; sister-in-law, Gloria Knezovich and many loving nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Letizia (nee Fimiani) Romito; five brothers, Victor, Anthony, Herman, Alphonse and Joseph Romito and sister, Mary Hlavach. His devotion and commitment to his wife and family was a pleasure to witness. Roland served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the submarine service in the South Pacific doing radio repair. From his youth and throughout his life he was an electronics expert, a ham radio operator, a craftsman and a woodworker. He once described himself as a "homemaker". He spent his entire working career as an auto parts store manager and salesman for the Pennsylvania Rubber and Supply Company in Bedford. For decades he sang in barbershop quartets, directed and played in a harmonica band, and square danced with his wife. He was renowned for his humor, endless stories, appreciation of music, and love for his wife and entire extended family.

Mass of Christian burial will be at the Church of the Assumption, 9183 Broadview Road, Broadview Heights, Ohio, on Saturday, November 13th at 11:00 am., gathering starting at 10:00 a.m.
