Charles F. Hauri, 75, 504 Andrews Road, retired electronics engineer at Delco Remy in Anderson, died Saturday afternoon at Ball Hospital following an extended illness. He was born in Connersville, spent his early years in that area, and later lived in Chesterfield for many years prior to coming to Delaware County in 1963. He served in the Navy during World War I.

Mr. Hauri was employed at Delco-Remy Corporation for 33 years prior to his retirement. He was a well-known ham radio operator and used the call letters W9FJX.

Surviving are his wife, Ruby Rosser Hauri; a daughter, Phyllis Hauri, Muncie; one son, James Hauri, Albany; his son-in-law, Cecil Overholt, Muncie; his sister, Mrs. Frances Reisert, Indianapolis; his brother, Joseph Hauri, Connersville; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at Meeks Mortuary at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Jeffrey Snyder officiating. Interment will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery.
