Gordon E. Miller, 81, of Kearney, Missouri died Sunday, December 11, 2005 at St. Luke's Hospital. Memorial services will be 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Kearney Christian Church, 2151 South Jefferson St. Cremation. Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Private inurnment services will be held at a later date at the Busby Cemetery, near Newtown, MO. The family suggests memorial contributions to a charity of your choice. Gordon was born November 22, 1924 to Earl O. and Pearl Scott Miller who preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth L. Miller, of the home; two sons Gregory E. Miller, Farmington, MN, and Michael A. Miller, Jefferson City, MO; a daughter Cheryl L. Bindon, Mt. Prospect, IL; and seven grandchildren. He enlisted in the Navy as an Aviation Radio Operator in World War II. He was a licensed amateur radio operator for some 40 years with the call WA0ZOG and assisted with communications for many charitable and civic events. He retired from Mobil Oil Corporation in 1984 with 38 years of service where he held various staff and management positions in several Midwest states.
