Thomas A. Baker, age 88, 630 Scenic Avenue, Bloomsburg ( Wonderview) died at 8:40 p. m. Friday, January 18, 2019 at The Gardens At Millville, where he was a guest since December 29, 2018. He was in failing health for the past year.

Born in Danville on July 2, 1930, he was the son of the late Paul S. and Elizabeth (Ryan) Baker. He resided in Wonderview for the past 20 years and previously lived in rural Elysburg for many years. He was a 1948 graduate of Bloomsburg High School and attended St. Bonaventure University, Olean, N.Y. for one year.

Tom was employed as a salesman by various businesses throughout his working years.

Tom served with the U. S. Army during the Korean War from April, 1951 to December 31, 1952 with the rank of Corporal.

He was a member and past president of the Old Buzzards's Club, a ham radio organization. His hobby was ham radio and his call letters were WA3HVP.

Tom was an animal lover and his two furry companions (dogs) were Annie and Buster.

He was preceded in death by two wives: Dawn Hoffman on April 11, 1983 and Charlotte L. Morrison on January 1, 2015 and a brother Paul J. "Pete" Baker.

Tom is survived by four children: Richard Corman, Eganville, Ontario, Canada; Susan, wife of Bernard Novick, Bloomsburg; William F. Baker, and his wife Dianne, Elysburg; Paul S. Baker, and his wife Claudia, Shiner, Texas; 9 grandchildren: Sean, Lauren, Jennifer, Sheree, Jamie, Jodie, Nicole, Jonathon, and Daniel; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to granddaughter, Nicole Baker, for being his caregiver during these past four months.

Private services will be held from the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with Rev. Augustine Joseph, Catholic Chaplain at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, officiating. Interment will follow in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. There will be no viewing.
