George M. Bell Sr., 93, was born in Winbur, PA, and passed away on March 26, 2018 in Melbourne, FL.

George was formerly of Petersburg, MI where he served as Postmaster for many years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart. George was Past Post Commander of the VFW in Petersburg, MI and a member of the in Petersburg and Melbourne. He served as Commander of the Florida 80th Division Reunion. He was also Ham Radio Operator WA8DYA.

George is survived by his wife of 71 years, Jean; daughters, Mary (Dennis) LaVoy, Nancy (Randy) Pierce, Bonnie (Bill) Schmidt and Margaret (Jeri) Martin; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son, George M. Bell Jr.
