Walt is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Betty J. Peace. His daughters; Sharon (Jeff) Hutchison and Kim (Jim) Schmitz. His "magnificent" seven grandchildren; Jennifer (David) Cabrera, Matthew (Kandi) Schmitz, Jessica, Katie, Jonathan & William Hutchison, Tim Schmitz and four great-grandchildren; Riley & Everett Cabrera and Reid & Caiden Schmitz.

He is survived by his sisters Roni Powell and Ruth (Steve) Mueck and loved by many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother and father Norma and Edwin Peace and his brother, Kennard Peace.

Walt was a devoted man who proudly served our country in the United States Air Force and retired after 26 years. He was a member of the Amara Shrine, a Freemason, the Scottish Rite, VFW, Air Force Sergeants Association and DAV. He was an avid HAM radio operator and dedicated member of the Palm Beach County HAM radio club (WD4IUD) and participated in many national disaster preparedness field days. Utilizing his HAM radio skills, he assisted veterans at the VA hospital and allowed them to communicate with loved ones.

He retired from Palm Beach County Streets and Traffic division and enjoyed traveling with his family to Texas and the Florida Keys. He was always ready for an adventure!

A celebration of life will be held January 16th, 2016 at Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Lake Worth, FL. Friends and family will be received from 1-2 PM. Service to follow.
