Initally licensed in March 1959, while living in Camden, NJ, as WV2EJL, I had a roof mounted 25 ft high, 66 ft, 40 meter dipole, and was running 25 watts via an Allied Radio Knight Kit transmitter and a Hallicrafter's S38E receiver. I received my General Class License in July of 1959.

I maintained my license while in school and in the military not upgrading to Extra Class until 1988.
