FINCH, Stephen C. "Steve", 66, of Homosassa passed away on August 18, 2014, at Oak Hill Hospital. Steve was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and was an alumni of the University of Michigan where he received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering and played for two years on Michigan's football team. He also received a Master's degree in international business relations from Grand Valley State College. After several years of working for Amway Corporation, Steve moved with his wife and child to Colorado in 1979 to pursue his entrepreneurial aspirations where he became the CEO of Mountain States Resource Development and later, International Business Consultants.

AIØW - Stephen C. Finch Protestant by faith, Steve attended Wealthy Street Baptist and Faith Baptist while living in Grand Rapids and Bear Valley Baptist and Cherry Hills Community Church for over 20 years in Colorado. He devoted much of his adult life as a scout master of Troop 685 in Morrison, Colorado. He mentored many young men through the Boy Scouts and watched several including his own son, receive the Scout's highest honor: Eagle. In recent years, Steve was a Professor at the University of Phoenix where he taught several seminars on Finance and International Business. He moved to Florida in 2011 from Bailey, Colorado with his wife, Sally.

Steve was an Eagle Scout, a former member of New Life Singers,and an Amateur Radio operator. He loved spending time with family and friends, conversing on multiple topics from business venture capital ideas to politics, football, scouts, music, traveling, reading, history, hiking, backpacking and camping throughout many national parks.

He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Sarah Ann (Sally) Lewis-Finch of Homosassa, FL; his only son: Eric Finch and his wife, Rachael of Spring Hill, TN; 3 grandchildren: Abigail, Tristan and Reilly; 3 sisters: Susan Griswold of Jackson, MI; Patricia Linscott of Ada, MI; Barbara Barber of Schoolcraft, MI; his brother: Michael Finch of Evergreen, CO; and the mother of his son: Jeanna Finch of Columbia, TN.

The family invites everyone to a celebration of Steve's life and memorial service, Saturday September 20, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Crossroads Bible Church, 800 Scribner NW, Grand Rapids, Michigan. A family graveside service and memorial reception will follow later in the evening.
