Amnon Bar Giora, 4X1DF , also known as Karl-Heinz Graetzer, HB9JAI , died at the end of October 2016 at the age of 93 . He was born in Berlin in 1923, emigrated to British Palestine in 1938, and settled in Kibbutz North. An Australian member of British troops introduced him to the secrets of amateur radio, and Amnon's first brand was ZC6AZ in 1946. In 1948, he was a co-founder of the Israeli organization IARC and received a 4X4DF concession. In 1960, he worked for Mossad in search of Josef Mengele in South America. Amnon found him in Paraguay, but failed to deport him to Israel.
