Dr. Sekine passed away on 15-OCT-2012, at age 76. He was a professor emeritus of Tokyo University of Science (TUS). TUS published the announcement of SK in their publication at http://www.sut.ac.jp/info/publish/gakuhou/pdf/no188.pdf Dr. Sekine had been a great mentor for Japanese hams. During 1970s he published an article about UART chip for RTTY, which was my first exposure to the serial communication technology. I suggest you to remove him from your roster. 73 Kenji Rikitake, JJ1BDX Hi Bob: I would appreciate if you kindly correct his address in Japan: it's not Shinjuki. The right word is "Shinjuku". Shinjuku is one of the 23 districts in central/downtown Tokyo. Dr. Sekine also introduced Coherent CW in Japan on the late 1970s (1978 or 1979). I remember his last publication was from CQ Publishing, Co. Ltd. in 2011 or so, about the basic engineering on radio communication. 73 Kenji Rikitake, JJ1BDX I don't know how long the TUS publication will be available. Webmaster |
