Ruth Margaret Dinter, 94, of Marion passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Ruth was born July 22, 1921 to Glenn and Irene (Miller) Forrester in Leon, NY. She graduated from Randolph High School in Randolph, NY then married John A. Dinter. She worked as an insurance agent for Bouslog-Verhille Insurance Agency until her retirement in 1989. Ruth was a Charter Member of Hope United Church of Christ in Hiawatha. She was also a member of the Insurance Women of Cedar Rapids, American Business Women's Association, Eastern Star Lodge, and was recognized in Who's Who in Iowa. Ruth also had her Ham Radio License (K0ITT). Ruth was a very special lady and will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her daughters, Dottie (Mel) Huerter of Marion, and Dianne Dinter (Dick Prohaska) of Cedar Rapids; daughter-in-law, Jan Dinter of Davenport; grandchildren, Daniel Huerter of Cedar Rapids, David Dinter of Harrisburg, PA, DeeAnn Riter, Denise Brown of Yorktown, VA, Darcie Egleston of Williamsburg, VA, and Daniel Mayer of San Diego, CA; 8 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and special friend, Evelyn Swanson. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; son, Dennis; 2 sisters; and 3 brothers. Visitation: 4 - 7 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2016 at Murdoch Funeral Home& Cremation Service in Marion. Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Murdoch Funeral Home& Cremation Service, Marion. Inurnment will be at Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids at a later date.
