FREMONT -- Cleo Maxine Norman Bracket, 92, of Fremont died on Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at Sumner Place in Lincoln. She was born Jan. 10, 1925, in Fargo, Oklahoma, to Ralph E. and Mina Coryl Hutchinson Norman. The family moved near Sharon, Oklahoma, to farm when Cleo was 4 years old. She graduated from Sharon High School where she played basketball.
Cleo attended Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College in Stillwater and worked in Tulsa for three years. She returned to Oklahoma A&M and graduated in Business Education in 1948. Cleo was married to fellow student Joseph T. (Tom) Bracket of Fremont in Stillwater on June 1, 1948, the day after her graduation.
She was a resident of Fremont for 66 years. Cleo was the bookkeeper for the family businesses: Bracket Motor Supply and later, H and H Manufacturing. She bowled in the Fairacres Women.s League with the same team for over 20 years. Cleo was a member of Valley View Golf Club and the Fremont YMCA. She is a 50-year member and former officer of Young Ladies Radio League and Fremont.s Pioneer Amateur Radio Club. Cleo supported her children as a Cub Scout, Brownie Scout, and 4-H leader. She was a member of St. Patrick.s Catholic Church and former officer of St. Patrick.s Women. She was a member of Joan of Arc Circle and Church Women United.
Survivors include her children, Barbara Chesnut, Lincoln; Michael (Linda) Bracket, Clinton Township, Michigan; Carolyn Cline, Castle Rock, Colorado. Grandchildren include, Kevin Chesnut, Denver; Dan (Karla) Chesnut, Lincoln; Megan (Erik) Strang, Royal Oak, Michigan; Alison (Athanasios) Kalantzis, Chicago; and John Cline, New York. Great-grandchildren include, Shelby and Mason Chesnut and Emma Strang.
Cleo was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brothers, Clifford (Ida Mae) Norman, Herbert C. (Eileene) Norman.
Visitation with family and friends, 5-7 p.m. Thursday with rosary at 7 p.m. at Moser Memorial Chapel.
