Ronald Edward Lile, 75, of Lynnville, Ind., passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2022, at his home. Ron was born in Louisville, Ky., on Feb. 9, 1947, to the late John Everett and Gladys Irene (Day) Lile. Ron served proudly in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. He retired after many years as an Electrical Engineer from ERI in Chandler. He was a member of the IEEE and authored the chapters on Antenna Design in the IEEE tech manual. He was on the Community Emergency Response Team, enjoyed woodworking and was a Ham Radio Operator as the call sign K0RL. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Brenda Lile. Ron is survived by his wife, Fern Lile of Lynnville, Ind.; children, Dawn Woodward (Travis) of Arkadelphia, Ark.; Ron "Bear" Lile Jr. of Golden, Ill.; Shawn Lile (Christina) of Evansville, Ind.; James Pat Lile (Raechel) of Newburgh, Ind.; his grandchildren, Ethan Allen (Hannah), Jessie Woodward, Makenzie Mathis (Jake), Ariel Lile, Spencer Lile, Ana Lile, Paige Lile, Mackenzie Lile, Kaylee Lile, Carter Lile, Gabe Pumphrey, Katy Lile, Reese; great-grandchildren, Nola Allen, Thea Allen and Brandon Austin; sister, Sherry Lile; and several nieces and nephews. Services were Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Koehler Funeral Home in Boonville, Ind., with pastors Phil Elikofer and David Garrett officiating. Burial was at Plainview Cemetery in Boonville, Ind., with the American Legion Kapperman Post 44 to conduct military honors. Visitation was Monday, Oct. 3, and again until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made for a bench that will be made in memory of Ron on the Lynnville Pathway.
