The most interesting man in the world has left the planet. Marc "Who Needs a Middle Name" Cadoff departed for his next adventure on November 8th. Born on February 18, 1941 in the greatest city in the world, to the loving Solomon and Mena Cadoff, Marc led his life, in the immortal words of Francis Albert Sinatra: "My Way." Growing up in and around Boston, he was later joined by his brothers Edward and Steven. Most of the adventures of his youth are still classified and won't be available by F.O.I.A. request until 2041. Marc graduated from Randolph High School as a straight shooter and embarked on a mission to become a true Jack of All Trades. He was a police officer, a Coast Guardsman, electronics technician, a salesman, among others, and a general workaholic. While he is most remembered as the inspiration for the Simpsons, Mr. Plow, as of late, he was researching his next role in the Fast and Furious franchise moving cars around New England for Enterprise.
He met and married the late Pamela Stofflet of Hull, a true bombshell and amazing woman, and had two outstanding children: Joel Michael and the late Jason Allan. As a loving father he instilled and installed an incredible work ethic. While not coming across as a teddy-bear, he was, after peeling away more layers than any onion should rightfully have, the softiest of softies. He is survived by his loving daughter-in-law, Rebecca and two all-star grandchildren Olivia Rose and Jacob Solomon. He will always be their Zaide, a guiding light among the stars that line the heavens. He will forever be loved and missed.
Marc had a number of different hobbies to keep his mind sharp and fresh. While he skippered no America's Cup winners over his 75 years, he did love the ocean. There's a boat out there he'll want to fix, but probably won't. He was involved with the Boy Scouts of America, including the Sea Scouts, among other youth organizations. When you have two children you get involved. He went to the games and cheered harder and louder than anyone. There are probably a few hockey rinks he's still banned from. He was an amateur radio enthusiast, and while he should have been involved with S.E.T.I., K1HLP is mobile and his radio waves are dancing in the ether on their journey to a galaxy far far away. If you're a cribbage player in eastern Massachusetts, you've probably played and lost to the greatest player ever known to Marc.
Outside of his family, the relationships he held with his fraternal brothers are his strongest. Marc was very active with the Elks and the Knights of Pythias. You could see him working in the kitchen with the Weymouth Elks or catch him playing cards. But, his greatest fraternal achievement, as a member of the Damon Lodge, Knights of Pythias, Domain of Massachusetts, was the rank of Supreme Representative. Marc Cadoff is a man who will be missed. He touched many lives and was one of the good ones. Wherever he is, he will continue to watch over us and take care of us. Burial will take place today November 11 at 1pm in the Hull Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Bridge Center, 470 Pine Street, Bridgewater MA 02324
