Chuck has served on the QCWA BoD since 1997 as Secretary, then on December 17, 2003 he became the General Manager. He was first licensed in 1952 as WØLFX. While in High school, he worked at Leo Meyerson's World Radio Labs in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Chuck graduated from Iowa State College with a BSEE in 1957 and moved to New England, changing his call to K1IGD. His engineering career spanned 34 years, working for Raytheon and Sylvania (later GTE/Government Systems) as a designer and manager on a variety of government communications systems. Chuck holds an Extra class license and enjoys the keyboard modes on HF and VHF. He is Secretary/Treasurer of Yankee Chapter, edits the chapter newsletter, maintains the chapter Web page and also edits the newsletter for the Pioneer Chapter. Chuck also belongs to TAPR, OOTC and the ARRL. |
