Charles Henry Davison Sr., 100, of Monroe Twp., passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at the University Medical Center at Princeton. Charles was born in Millstone Twp. and lived in Hightstown for many years until moving to Monroe Village. He spent the early part of his life farming. Upon his graduation from high school, he completed courses at the RCA Institutes in Philadelphia. Charles worked for various companies, including the Thermoid Company, Thiokol Company's Laboratory, General Electric, and Princeton University's Forestal Research Laboratory before retiring as a Sales Manager from Communication Products, a subsidiary of Phelps Dodge Communications. Charles remained active his entire life and especially loved electronics and HAM radio. He was a Fellow in the Radio Club of America, a member of Quarter Century Wireless as well as the Pepper Net HAM Group. Charles was a Mason for more than 55 years at the Hightstown Apollo Lodge #41 F. & A.M. as well as a lifetime and one of the oldest living members of the First Baptist Church of Hightstown.

He was preceded by his wife of 50 years, Marion Davison; his sister, Elsie Pierson; his grandson, Deforest John Ely; and a step grandson, Evi Brink. Charles is survived by his wife of 28 years, Ruth M. Davison of Monroe Village; his children, Patricia D. Ely and her husband Howard of Neptune, Charles H. Davison Jr. and his wife Frances of East Brunswick, Margaret D. Hecht and her husband William of Allentown, PA, Bonnie Warnsdorfer and her husband Jerry of Monroe Twp., and Joan Casey and her husband Michael of IN; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren; and his sister, Joan Ely of NC.

Friends and family are invited to visit from 9 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 until the funeral service at 11 a.m. at A.S. Cole Son & Company, 22 North Main St., Cranbury, NJ 08512. The interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hightstown. Donations may be made to the Monroe Village Activity Fund, One David Brainerd Drive, Monroe Township, NJ 08831 or to the . Davison receives the Centenarian Award
Charles Davison Sr. K2DOV turned 100 on October 8 and was presented with the RCA Centenarian Award in New Jersey by RCA President Vivian A Carr accompanied by RCA member, Don Vaughan, while attending a special birthday luncheon celebration hosted by his son, Charles Davison Jr. K2DPS. Davison Sr is only the fourth RCA member to receive this prestigious award (two have been awarded this years alone). Both Davison's have been RCA members since 1971, and the senior Davison became a Fellow in 1977.
