Charles William Seggie

Charles William Seggie, 96, of Frostburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019, at Sterling Care Frostburg Village Nursing Home.
Charles was born on Feb. 24, 1922, in Frostburg. He was the son of the late Charles and Pearl (Whitehead) Seggie.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Gladys (Adkins) Seggie; one brother, Harry Seggie; three sisters, Mary Leptic, Sarah Loar, and Shirley Harman; and step-son, Arthur Rae Phillips, Sr.
He was a graduate of Beall High School, Frostburg. Charles retired from WR Grace Chemical in Curtis Bay, for 42 years as an instrument mechanic, even though he was legally blind.
He also built his beautiful home from the ground up with the help of his good friend, Otts. There was no job he was afraid to tackle.
He also was an avid Ham radio operator for many years.
Surviving are his granddaughter, Tammy Wheatley and husband, Guy, Baltimore; brother, Lloyd Seggie and wife, Jean, South Carolina; sister, Donna Cutter, Frostburg; step-grandchildren, Kayla and Nathan Wheatley, Arthur Rae Jr. and Amy Phillips; very special companion, Ruby Allen, Tennessee; special niece, Diana Cutter, Midlothian.

Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. is entrusted with the arrangements. There will be a private service at a later date.
