Ralph L. Hairsine Jr, 89, passed away on June 15, 2014. Mr. Hairsine served his country in the US Marine Corps. He was employed as a communications supervisor with the Pennsylvania Railroad before retiring. Ralph was involved and was manager for many years with the American Legion Baseball and was past commander of American Legion Post #1. He was an amateur radio operator (K3MPZ), was a master mason and a member of the Armstrong Lodge for many years, and drove his treasured Metropolitan car with local antique car clubs. Ralph was also very involved with the Marines "Toys for Tots".Ralph was preceded in death by his first wife Betty Hairsine; He is survived by his current wife Hazel Irwin Hairsine; his children Linda H. Russell and husband Joseph, Tina L. Deptula and husband Dave all of Newark, DE and Ralph L. Hairsine, III and wife Jennifer of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren Jody Russell, Ralph L. Hairsine, IV, Cassidy Hairsine; great grandchildren Brett Russell and Shane Russell; sister Barbara Birch Blair of NV, and cousin Jane Hamershock of Wilmington, DE.A private committal service will be held on Monday June 23 at 10 am. at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd.
