Paul Stephen Silinsky

Died: Sat, May 5, 2018
Paul Stephen Silinsky age 69 of Ashland, was called home by God on May 5, 2018 after a valiant battle with Parkinson' disease and Sarcoidosis. Born in Sykesville Pennsylvania the son of Stephen and Claudia (Zaycosky) Silinsky on May 12, 1948, he was an Ashland resident since 1998.
Paul had a passion for Science and graduated from M.I.T. He also received his Doctorate from West Virginia University.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy and worked on computer systems on ships and submarines.
He was an Amateur Radio buff and was a member of the Quad County Amateur Radio Club and was instrumental in installing the first two meter repeater in DuBois, Pennsylvania. Early on he and his 'HAM' friends would fly out of DuBois Airport to Bar Harbor, Maine for Seafood.
Paul also was a member of the Park Street Brethren Church where he helped with church media productions. He was also a member of the Harry Higgins Post #88 American Legion.
On May 22, 1999 Paul was married to Tonda Rae (Harbison) Silinsky who survives. Paul is also survived by step daughter and step son in law, [REDACTED as requested by family member]
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Park Street Brethren Church, 619 Park Street, Ashland Ohio 44805 on Saturday May 12, 2018 from 2-4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family has suggested donations be made to the Parkinsons Foundation of Northwest Ohio, P.O. Box 202, Perrysburg Ohio 43551
Paul was known for his quick wit and gentle kindness and will be greatly missed.
