George "Russ" Mayo Russell, 94, of Germantown, Maryland, joined the Lord on February 17, 2018. Russ was born in Des Moines, Iowa, to the late Elizabeth and George Russell.
He served in the US Army Air Corps in World War II and the Korean war.
After his discharge, Russ served as an engineer and eventually became a deputy director at the Department of Commerce.
He had a love for golf, wine, travel, and storytelling.
Beloved husband of Yvonne Russell; devoted father of Jayne Russell and John Russell; cherished grandfather of Angie Swain (Phil).
George is predeceased by his parents and sister, Betty Jane Russell and his beloved uncle RDMC Wilfred "Mac" McNeil, USN.
