Frank P. Theriot (Age 95) of Vienna, VA, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016 at Leewood Nursing Home. Mr. Theriot was born in Houma, LA and was a longtime resident of Vienna, VA.

In 1942, he came to Washington and began his career with the Navy Department as an engineer in the then new field of radar. Later, in uniform, he served in the Navy in the Pacific where he was involved with the installation, operation, maintenance and training of radar systems in Navy ships.

In 1946, he returned to the Navy Department in Washington, again associated with shipboard radar. He made this his lifelong career, retiring in 1972 as Head Engineer, Radar Branch, Naval Ship Engineering Center.

He was an amateur radio operator and held the radio call K4BZ.

His marriage to Claire Gaidry Theriot ended in divorce. His wife of 40 years, Katheryn Cuny Theriot died in 1997.

Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn McKee and Evelyn Fretz, both of Tucson, AZ; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
