K4SAF, licensed as a novice in 1957 at age 15. The receiver is a Hallicrafters SX 18 Sky Challenger, a homebrew rig built by my father, K4SAB. It used 6AG7 oscillator, 6AG7 buffer, and an 6146 in the final, with a Healthkit VF-1 VFO.

My brother Fred W4DF still has the rig, although it's not operational.
