Donald W. Greenwood went home to be with the Lord where his family will join him some day with his wife and family by his side on October 10th 2013.
Don was born January 1st 1933 in Spiro, OK to Ottis and Ruth {Conrad} Greenwood and graduated from Spiro High School. Don earned a PhD in Physics from the University of California. He served in the US Marines and retired from McDonald Douglas after 40 years, where he worked as a Aviation Investigator on plane crashes.
He married Jacqueline Rice-Greenwood on July 20th 1989 which he said was the happiest day of his life. Don and Jacqueline moved to Huntsville, AL where he worked with the Space Shuttle Division, designing the inside of space shuttles.
Don was a Amateur Radio Operator in Ohio and Oklahoma, he focused on reuniting families.
In addition to his wife, Don is survived by a daughter Donna Greenwood of CA; step-daughters Sherry Whartow (Jason Ferguson) of Shreve, OH, Misty (Jeremy) Green of Wooster, OH, and Haley Smith of the home; grandchildren Shannon Whartow Jr. , Jordon and Jeromy Green, and two grandsons in California; sisters Drucilla Greenwood of AR and Gwen (Keith) May of Spiro, OK, brothers Bill (Helen) Greenwood of Spiro, OK and Harold Greenwood of Oklahoma City, OK; many nephews, cousins, friends and other family members who love him and will miss him. He was proceeded in death by his parents and brothers AJ and Kenneth Greenwood.
Private Services will be held at Roberts Funeral Home - Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Pastor Darin Stambaugh officiating.
Entombment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Wooster, where military rites will be held.
