Houston Chronicle, July 26, 2015: Thomas Pinkney Boyett III, entered his eternal home on Thursday, July 23, 2015. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Burnette Jurica Boyett; their children, Diane Montfort, Thomas P. Boyett, Jr., Carol Ballard; their spouses; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; step-brother; nieces and nephews.T. P. was born in Houston and grew up in Rosenberg, Texas. He was drafted during his second year at A&M to serve during WWII. He saw action in Central Europe at the Battle of the Bulge. After WW II, he married Burnette Jurica and they moved to College Station where he completed his education at TAMC with a BS in Engineering as a member of the class of '46. They returned to Houston where T. P. had a 36 year career as Director of Rates for the Gulf Coast division of CenterPoint Energy. T. P. was a faithful member of ChristChurch Presbyterian where he served on the session and numerous committees. T. P. and Burnette spent many exciting years traveling in the US with the EAA, as well as overseas with the Entex Travel Club, and his wartime organizations of the Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge and the 30th Infantry Division. T. P.'s most enjoyable hobbies dealt with aviation and amateur radio; both T.P. and Burnette were licensed by the FCC. His love for aviation was fulfilled when he soloed in a Cessna aircraft and when he and his son built and flew their own experimental aircraft. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.Friends are invited to visitation from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, July 27, 2015, at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home. A memorial service honoring T.P.'s life will be held at 1:30 PM Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at ChristChurch Presbyterian, 5001 Bellaire Blvd., Bellaire, TX 77401. |
