Duke Campbell, long an icon on the Austin ham airwaves, passed away last Sunday, after a long battle with cancer. Duke came to ham events until a few days before his passing. Services are pending. Duke and his son, (also SK) installed many radio towers around Austin for years. Duke was a retired Austin Firefighter, from the old days of smoke eating. He was an elmer to many, and a strong clubs supporter.
