George Philip Clements was born March 29, 1940 in Dallas, and adopted by the late Rex and Vera Clements of Belton. He had been a resident of Van Zandt County, near Edom, for 19 years, formerly living in Belton and Lewisville. He was a retired pilot, flying for Braniff Airways and Airborne Express. A FEMA volunteer, he was an amateur radio instructor, a member of American Radio Relay League, RACES, and the Edom Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Lyn Clements of Van Zandt County, near Edom; two children, Shari Jenkins of Addison and Shelly McKee (Joe) of Pottsboro; three grandchildren, Mitchell Mahaffey (Brittany) of Tyler, Justin Wilson (Lindsay) of Houston, and Jami Wilson of Addison; and four great-grandchildren, Maddox, Brady and Macie Mahaffey of Tyler, and Ashton Wilson of Houston.
