Johnston, 87, of Sour Lake, Texas, died Friday, April 17, 2015, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont, Texas. A native of Beaumont, Texas, he was born on September 18, 1927, to Hazel Boone Johnston and Sidney Johnston. Archie was a member of the Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a ham radio operator. Most of all, Archie never took for granted the time he spent with his family. He was a loving and humorous father and husband that was full of integrity. Survivors include his wife, Jessie Mae Johnston; children, Judi C. Benoit and her husband, Ronnie, Rick M. Johnston and his wife, Cathy, Tommy D. Johnston, David B. Johnston and his wife, Ruthann, Keith R. Johnston and his wife, Robin and Jill P. Alborn and her husband, Matt; sixteen grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bobbye Jean Killgo; and son, Robert Archie Johnston.
