Hardy M. Prescott, a retired rate clerk for Illinois Central Gulf Railroad and a resident of Baton Rouge, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001. He was 81 and a native of Nortonville, Ky.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St.
Religious services at St. George Catholic Church, conducted by the Rev. Joey Angeles.
Entombment in St. George Mausoleum.

Survived by his wife, Rosa Simon Prescott, Baton Rouge; four daughters, Gail Ann Yoes, Norco, Janice Baker, Natchez, Miss., Connie Widner, Central, and Melissa Mistric, Walker; two sons, Darrell T. Prescott, Woodville, Miss., and Glen Prescott, Baton Rouge; a brother, Lionel H. Prescott, Gainesville, Fla.; 19 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Wilma Prescott Dunn and Gladys Pittman.

He was a member of St. George Catholic Church, a former member of the choir, and a member of the Baton Rouge Amateur Radio Club, with the call letters K5WMT.
