Stanley (Stan) Leonard Kuhl passed away on Oct. 18, 2008 after a year long battle with cancer. He was the only child of Nick and Tres Kuhl of Seward, Nebraska born Dec. 22, 1926. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Hazel, 7 children, 18 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. As a boy, Stan grew up working in the family's movie theater business. After graduating from Los Gatos High School, he went on to join the US Army during WWII. He graduated from Santa Clara University and spent over 35 years as an Electrical Engineer working for Varian Associates in Palo Alto. During this time he and Hazel were busy raising their seven children in Sunnyvale. Stan had a 60 year passion for Amateur Radio under the call signs "W6JKJ" and "K6MA" which led to many friends and awards. He also enjoyed traveling in the family RV. He was a good and decent man who is greatly missed. A funeral mass will be held at St. Cyprian's Catholic Church on the corner of Washington Ave. and Leota Ave. in Sunnyvale on Thursday, Oct. 23 at 11:00 am. Stan will be laid to rest at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Los Altos. |
