He accepted Christ at an early age and attended Mount Vernon Church in Cleveland, Arkansas. After moving to Atchison, Kansas, he attended the Campbell Chapel, A.M.E. Church and was a part of the Methodist Church in Los Angeles, California. While in California, he discovered the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints which he continued to participate with until his passing. Within the LDS Church, he received his temple recommend and visited the temple as often as he could.
Aaron served his country in World War II from 1940-1943.
He attended Center Elementary School in Cleveland, Arkansas but later moved to Atchison, Kansas to complete his secondary education. With the Army GI bill, he competed a Baccalaureate Degree in Electrical Engineering at Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, California.
Aaron worked in several locations throughout the country but settled in Los Angeles, California and married Gloria Joy Antee in 1959. He worked in the Aerospace Industry with companies such as Boeing and finally at Hughes Aircraft Company in 1986 in research and development. He retired from Hughes Aircraft in 1986 but pursued his first love, real estate. He loved school and the process of learning which lead him to enroll in classes which covered subjects from real estate to farming and beyond.
An avid reader, Aaron loved to read anything that he could get his hands on. Toward the end of his time on this earth, he concentrated on his Book of Mormon which allowed him to have a closer relationship with God. He enjoyed fishing with his son, Aaron, and being outdoors as much as he possibly could. He enjoyed working with his hands which included building furniture, working on cars in his backyard and maintaining a small engine repair business. Aaron also held a HAM radio license from his young adulthood and spoke to people all over the world.
Aaron moved back to Arkansas in 1996 where he joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Morrilton where he was a very active member and leaves many friends that he cherished.
In 2010, he moved to Richmond, Virginia to live with his daughter Karen. He met many people at his new LDS church there. There, with many members of his church, he went to the temple to be sealed with many of his family members, including his wife of twenty-six years. He happily continued his Melchizedek Priesthood duties in his Richmond Church.
On January 29, 2014, Aaron went to be with the Lord. His wife, Gloria, preceded him in death along with many of his brothers and sisters. He leaves behind his daughter, Dr. Lieutenant Colonel Karen C. Wright, MD, of Chesterfield, Virginia and son, Aaron Patrick Wright of Little Rock, Arkansas. He is also survived by his brothers, Moses Wright (Nellie Ruth) of Detroit, Michigan, Jonah Wright (Alice E.) of Kansas City, Missouri and his God Daughter, Myree Johnson (Carl) of Cleveland, Arkansas and numerous cherished and loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
