Cannon Gordon Anderson, age 77, passed away on March 11, 2001, of Alzheimer's disease. Born February 8, 1924 in Ephraim, Utah, to Lars L. Cannon and Hazel Anderson. Married Claudell Jacobson on December 16, 1948. Gordon was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He landed on Utah Beach on D-Day. Wounded in the Battle of the Bulge. Graduated from the University of Utah with degrees in pharmacy and mathematics. Taught math at Granger High School for 27 years. He enjoyed tennis, golf, ham radios, cruising, and ballroom dancing. Survived by his wife, Claudell J. Anderson, Salt Lake City; son, Cannon Gordon (Debbie) Anderson, Jr., Holladay; daughter, Suzanne (Craig) Farley, Salt Lake City; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Phil and sister, La Rue Hutton. The family wishes to thank the staff of the VA Nursing Home Special Need Unit for all their loving care.Funeral services Thursday, March 15, 2001, 11 a.m., at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, where friends may call one hour prior to services.
