Dick Prather was born February 29, 1944 in Springfield, Missouri to Richard Sr. and Dorothy Prather. He was raised in Portland, Oregon with his two siblings, Robert and Rosemary. As a boy Dick occupied his time with comic books and baseball cards. He graduated from Benson High School in 1962. After high school Dick served in the United States Navy and attended Portland Community College.
On May 2, 1980 Dick exchanged wedding vows with Carolyn Spitznagel in Portland.
Dick had one daughter, Renee, and two grandchildren, Kylee and Kelsey.
Dick worked as a supervisor for Tri-Met for 39 years.
During his life Dick had many hobbies, but he especially enjoyed building and repairing projectors and Ham Radio.
Dick passed away November 16, 2014 in Portland. Inurnment will be at 2:00pm, Friday, December 5, 2014 in Lincoln Memorial Park. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn; daughter Renee Fisher-Greene; sister, Rose; granddaughters, Kylee and Kelsey and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Humane Society in Dick's name.
