Robert James Zaremba
September 17, 1919 - April 28, 2013
Robert James Zaremba (Bob) was born September 17, 1919 in Bellingham, Washington to Vincent J and Cecilia M Zaremba. He spent part of his early childhood near Bellingham, but he lived nearly all his life in Yakima. He graduated from Marquette High School in 1937.
In 1939 he met the love of his life, Lois I Morgan, on a date to near-by Eshbaugh Park. They married on November 4, 1939 and resided in Yakima. They were blessed to share over fifty five years together. Robert served honorably from 1943 to 1946 in the US Navy in the Pacific theater of WWII. Upon his return from the Navy, he worked for several employers in the Yakima area as a driver/salesman until his retirement in 1978. He was a life time member of the Teamsters. He was among the original members of the Yakima Ridgerunners Jeep Club. He loved the outdoors and to hunt and fish; a love he imparted to his children. He was an amateur radio operator for many years. He was a student all his life and encouraged all his children to finish their college education.
He and his wife Lois spent many of their last years together at their summer home at Rimrock Lake. From 2003 until his death on April 27, 2013, he was a resident of Chesterly Meadows in Yakima. He was a quiet, unassuming man, with a quick wit and charm.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, John Zaremba, and his loving wife, Lois. He is survived by his three sons, Ronald Zaremba (Beverly) of Goldendale, Kenneth Zaremba(Susan) of Boulder Creek, Ca, Carl Zaremba(Mary) of Monroe and a daughter, Mary Zaremba of Spokane. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. He was loved and he will be missed.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 6th, 2013 at 11:00am at Shaw & Sons Funeral Directors, 201 N 2nd St. Yakima
