Walter R. JOHNSON (K7VTR) Walter passed away on March 15, 2012 at the age of 92. He was born Feb. 20, 1920 in Seattle and graduated from Franklin High School. Walt was in the Army in California where he met his wife Gertrude. They were married October 8, 1942 in Las Vegas, Nev. She preceded him in death on Dec. 20, 2003. Walt worked for Washington Asphalt for many years. Later he took a job with the State Dept. of Transportation where he retired in 1983. Walt and his wife had a blueberry farm in the Lake Sawyer area until the early 70's. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kent. Internment will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent.
