Thomas Charles Folkman went to see Our Lord on May 26, 2016. Tom was born on May 12, 1928, to Ralph and Ruth Folkman in Cleveland, Ohio. Tom's two brothers James and John (Jack) have previously gone before him. Tom joined the Naval Reserve in 1948. In 1949 he married his beloved wife Audrey Ivancic in Cleveland, Ohio. Tom enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1951. He proudly served his country at home and overseas until 1955. During his years of service Tom was stationed at Williams Air Force base in Chandler, Arizona. Tom and Audrey fell in love with the beauty of Arizona and moved their family to Tempe in 1963. Tom was an avid amateur radio operator and won several awards in worldwide contests. His call letters were K8IPS and later K7YQI. He made friends all around the world with his passion for ham radio. Tom is survived by his wife Audrey, three children, Linda (Jerry), Suzanne (Dave), and Steven (Lise) his four grandchildren, Dawn (Anis), Spencer, Timothy and Jonathan, and one great grandchild, Adam. Tom's wishes were to be cremated and the National Cremation Society has made arrangements for his wishes. The family will hold a private ceremony at National Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
