Martha J. Hanna passed away on February 24, 2016. She was born in Toledo February 18, 1924, to Bernard and Margaret Morrell. A 1941 graduate of DeVilbiss High School, Martha attended Toledo University for two years, and then transferred to University of Michigan where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics. She was married to her late husband Bob for 66 years. She worked for five years in the retirement and benefits department at Owens-Illinois. Martha also taught knitting and crocheting at the South Toledo YMCA.
Along with her husband, she was active in amateur radio for many years, providing radio support to many races, marathons, triathlons and soccer tournaments.
Martha was a member of Church Women United, Adams Conservation Club, NRA, GTARA, ROAL, and the Toledo Zoo.
She is survived by a son, Alan and his wife, Sandy of Toledo, and a daughter, Kathryn and her husband, Bill Hewitt of Gettysburg.
The family will receive friends at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral home 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd. at Byrne Rd. on Saturday, February 27, 2016, 2-6 p.m. A private interment will be held at a future date in St. Rose Cemetery, Perrysburg, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Toledo Area Humane Society, Maumee Valley Save-A-Pet, or a charity of the donor's choice.
